We were delighted to attend ‘My Conference’ in Dunfermline on Wednesday 1st November.
The conference was the first event of its kind and gave attendees the opportunity to join together to share personal stories and experience of being supported by the Real Life Options Group. People we support, and family members of people we support took to stage to share how the Real Life Options Group supports them in their daily lives. It was incredible to listen to people’s stories and hear some of the fantastic things people we support have achieved.
We were joined by Murray McBlain, whose late mum, Betty McBlain was cared for by 1st Homecare North Ayrshire. Murray spoke about his mum’s journey with Dementia and how 1st Homecare supported her over the span of four and a half years. Praising 1st Homecare for the “second to none” care they provided, Murray said, the minute the carers walked through the door “my mothers face lit up, the bond staff developed with my mum was unbelievable.”
Reflecting back on the conference Murray says, “It was very special to be able to thank publicly Jane Louden and all her team who did such an outstanding job looking after my mother at our home in Ardrossan.”
At 1st Homecare, we are passionate about helping people to retain their independence in their own homes, taking pride in getting the right levels of care in place, quickly and efficiently. We were delighted to hear Murray and Betty’s story about the support we provide.
Desiree MacLennan, Group Head of Operations at RLO Care at Home says, “I am so proud of our teams, they are all working so hard and this is a reminder of the quality service they deliver each and every day, regardless of their own personal challenges. No matter what the weather is like outside or how they are feeling, they go into people’s homes to take care of the people who need us most.”
